Fan Mail!

Mrs. Galante,
I have just finished The Patron Saint of Butterflies and I loved it No, more than loved it. It touched me in a way that few books have. While I loved both of your main characters, I could really relate to Agnes the best. I myself am a very religious person, and while I’ve been blessed with a loving and supportive family, I am also a perfectionist, and I could see myself becoming like Agnes if the circumstances had been different.

Your book is wonderful and I’ve been recommending it to everyone I’ve talked to. I’m going to buy it at the first chance I get, and read it again. It is that good. Thank you for writing it. Just in case you’re curious, though I don’t believe in ’saints’ per se, my favorite one, next to your Agnes, would have to be Joan of Arc.

Anyway, thank you again for the amazing work.
God bless,
Emily

Dear Cecilia, I just thought I would drop you a line, later than to be expected, and let you know my nieces loved the books, Patron St. of Butterflies and Hershey Herself. My younger niece (10) takes everything to heart and is very sensitive. Well, she absolutely loved it. She attends Walsingham Academy in VA and the teachers there said it’s a very good book and even with her personality said it would be fine for her. My sister said she didn’t put it down. She told me everything that happened in it from beginning to end. I bought my 16 your other book and she said she enjoyed it. You know how it gets at that age, not much to say unless it’s done on facebook or text messaged. I’m the court reporter that works with your husband, Paul. Tell him I said hello. Willowood is looking good for the 10 year old, especially when the wether in VA is 105 degrees. Hope your summer is going well. You and Paul and your children take care and have a great summer. I purchased these books so long ago I forgot to get back to you and saw that you were coming to Barnes & Noble and I couldn’t make it. Sorry I missed you and hope it was a success. Thanks for making more children happy with some great reading. Pam Birtell at pambir@comcast.net
